Reflexology and Covid
Happy New Year! I bet that headline made you look! No, I'm not going to tell you reflexology can stop you getting covid, or cure covid. Reflexology can't cure a virus. What I am going to tell you is how reflexology can help support you through these covid-ridden times.
I don't think anyone would argue with me if I said that the last couple of years have been unexpected, full of ups and downs (mainly downs for a lot of us), and full of anxiety. There's a lot of fear too - fear of the virus, fear of the vaccine, fear of the vaccinated or unvaccinated, fear of losing a job or a business, fear for our loved ones and ourselves. And there's a lot of grief. So much grief. We grieve for those we have lost, for the opportunities missed, for the cancelled trips to loved ones, the lost holidays, the failing business, the loss of hopes and dreams. Anxiety, fear, grief, stress, worry - I could go on but I'm sure I don't need to.
And this is where reflexology can help. It can help support you so that you can manage those stresses. Stress causes or contributes to many illnesses (maybe around 85% of all illnesses), so if you can manage your stress better, you will feel better.
I'm seeing a lot of people with anxiety, depression, irritable bowel and exhaustion, and that's really not surprising. An hour away from the stresses of the world and a reflexology treatment can give you time out to relax, breathe and let go. Reflexology is also about helping your body back into balance, so providing support for a healthy immune system and a holistic approach to good health. If you're looking for a calm, gentle space and a holistic treatment to help provide balance, this may be it.
Reflexology won't make covid go away, but it may make you feel better about it. I also offer a shoulder to cry on and a safe space to let off steam.
